Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to get a flu jab?
The best time is in the autumn, ideally September to November, before flu starts circulating widely. However, it is never too late — we offer the vaccine throughout the flu season (typically until March).
How much does a private flu jab cost?
Our private flu jab costs £14.99. No eligibility check is needed — anyone aged 18 and over can have it.
Is the flu jab safe?
Yes. The injectable flu vaccine cannot give you flu as it does not contain live virus. Common side effects are mild and temporary — a sore arm, slight headache, or low-grade fever for a day or two.
Do I need a flu jab every year?
Yes. Flu viruses change every year, so the vaccine is updated annually to match the most likely strains. Annual vaccination is recommended to maintain protection.
Can I get a flu jab if I am pregnant?
Yes — the flu jab is recommended for all pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy. It protects both you and your baby. The injectable vaccine is safe during pregnancy.
How long does the appointment take?
The whole process usually takes about 5–10 minutes, including the health check and a short observation period after the injection.
Can I have the flu jab and COVID booster at the same time?
Yes. It is safe and recommended to have both vaccines at the same appointment. You may receive one in each arm to reduce any local soreness.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are recommended to avoid waiting, but we also welcome walk-ins during opening hours subject to vaccine availability.
